VP of eCommerce

Our client, an emerging beauty company, is looking to bring on a  VP of eCommerce  to join their time. This company is on a hybrid schedule, 3 days a week in LA. This leader will have a strong background in scaling high-growth consumer brands, with deep experience across DTC and Amazon. The right candidate is both strategic and hands-on, able to define the vision while also executing across channels, managing budgets, optimizing creative, and improving forecasting accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead ownership of the DTC business, including P&L accountability, overall strategy, and full-funnel performance (revenue, conversion, customer experience)
  • Oversee retention and lifecycle marketing efforts across email, SMS, and customer journey orchestration
  • Build and expand acquisition strategies aligned to revenue goals, CAC, and LTV targets
  • Drive conversion rate optimization, including landing page testing and ongoing experimentation
  • Develop channel and merchandising strategies (promotions, funnels, bundles, key launches)
  • Collaborate with Creative and Product teams to elevate site experience and brand storytelling
  • Leverage first-party data and performance insights to inform broader channel strategies (Amazon and wholesale), including segmentation, hero products, and messaging
  • Identify and prioritize new growth opportunities (e.g., TikTok Shop, affiliate, partnerships) with clear testing frameworks and success metrics
  • Own Amazon business performance, including P&L, long-term strategy, and revenue growth planning
  • Manage Amazon advertising (PPC, DSP, etc.) to improve efficiency and reduce TACoS
  • Oversee PDP optimization, content strategy, review management, and conversion improvements
  • Define pricing and promotional strategies to maintain margin integrity and minimize channel conflict
  • Partner with Operations on demand planning, inventory forecasting, and stock management
  • Establish differentiated assortment strategies across DTC and Amazon channels
  • Implement A+ content strategies and structured testing approaches
  • Manage external partners/agencies and evaluate opportunities to internalize capabilities
  • Build and execute a holistic paid media strategy across Meta, TikTok, Google Ads, and Amazon Ads
  • Design measurement frameworks, including attribution models, KPIs, and reporting cadence
  • Partner with Marketing and Creative teams to develop scalable, high-performing creative
  • Support digital growth across wholesale partners (e.g., major beauty retailers’ e-commerce platforms) as needed
  • Test and scale new channels, placements, and acquisition tactics
  • Own performance reporting across key metrics such as CAC, MER, LTV, ROAS, cohort analysis, and attribution
  • Ensure alignment between brand storytelling and performance objectives in partnership with Marketing
  • Work closely with Creative to accelerate testing and iteration of digital assets
  • Coordinate with Operations and Product teams on launches, key SKUs, and promotional calendars
  • Partner with executive leadership and Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and pacing
  • Present digital performance and insights to senior stakeholders, including leadership, board members, and external partners
  • Establish scalable processes and operational rigor to support continued growth
Role Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ownership of Amazon business performance end-to-end (required)
  • Experience scaling high-growth consumer brands (beauty or related industries preferred)
  • Deep expertise in DTC, including CRO, retention/lifecycle marketing, funnel optimization, and testing frameworks
  • Experience with TikTok Shop is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of paid media across Meta, TikTok, Google Ads, and Amazon Ads
  • Highly analytical, with the ability to build forecasts, models, and performance insights
  • Proven cross-functional leadership, particularly with Marketing and Creative teams
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, founder-led environments with a builder mindset
  • Familiarity with tools such as Shopify, Attentive, Triple Whale, Power BI, and Google Analytics is a plus

Salary: $200k - $230k
