Temporary Sales Planner

Our client, a luxury fashion house, is seeking a Temporary Sales Planner  to join their team on a hybrid schedule in New York City(3 days in-office, 2 days remote). This is a temporary assignment anticipated to begin in August and continue through January, with the potential for extension based on business needs and individual performance. This position is responsible for monitoring key business metrics, identifying trends and risks, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and contributing to ongoing business controlling initiatives based on organizational priorities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales performance reports, analyzing results against budgets, forecasts, prior-year performance, and category-specific trends.
  • Monitor and document significant business events that influence sales performance, including promotions, store renovations, traffic fluctuations, and other operational impacts.
  • Provide regular business updates to leadership, highlighting sales trends, opportunities, risks, and key performance drivers.
  • Maintain and update historical sales reporting databases using Power Query to support ongoing reporting and analytics.
  • Assist with the annual budgeting process and periodic forecast updates across stores, weeks, months, and product categories, with primary ownership of the Outlet and Wholesale channels.
  • Develop and refine weekly sales forecasts, adjusting projections based on current business performance and evolving market conditions.
  • Respond to financial planning requests from global headquarters and ensure timely delivery of required analyses.
  • Collaborate with Merchandising to establish seasonal wholesale sales plans and monitor results against budget and financial objectives.
  • Prepar$e monthly wholesale financial forecasts by season and month, incorporating budgets, customer orders, and returns while partnering closely with Sales Planning and Controlling teams.
  • Produce monthly market share performance summaries for both Retail and Wholesale businesses.
  • Maintain historical wholesale planning and budgeting databases to support forecasting accuracy and reporting.
  • Coordinate the monthly Outlet sales target process from start to finish, including target development, stakeholder communication, submission, and performance reporting.
  • Partner with Outlet Operations and Allocation teams by providing historical sales analysis and reporting as needed.
  • Deliver monthly store performance results to Human Resources to support incentive compensation and bonus calculations.
  • Assist with additional financial reporting, business analysis, and controlling projects as business priorities evolve.

Role Qualifications
  • Strong Excel skills (experience with Power Query is a plus)
  • Experience in sales reporting, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Preferred background in retail, wholesale, or merchandise planning
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Salary:$35-$40/hr
