Temp HSE Specialist

Our client, a  portfolio company of globally recognized heritage brands, is seeking a temporary, part-time Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Specialist to support a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace. This temporary role (6 month duration) is based in New York City.

The HSE Specialist provides subject-matter expertise across health, safety, and environmental programs, working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities
  • Support and implement health, safety, and environmental programs across operations
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and internal HSE regulations and standards
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans
  • Develop and deliver HSE training, awareness programs, and safety initiatives
  • Manage regulatory reporting, permits, and documentation
  • Coordinate with external agencies, inspectors, and service providers
  • Oversee contracted HSE services such as waste management, safety inspections, and first-aid programs

Job Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in health, safety, and environmental roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and audit readiness
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Certifications required or strongly preferred:
    • Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

Salary:$75,000
