Sr. Network Engineer

Our client, a wellness brand, is looking to hire a Senior Network Engineer to join their Global Network Services team in NYC on a hybrid schedule (3 days in office). This is a temporary role that is scheduled to last 12 months with potential to extend based on performance and business needs. This individual will be responsible for the design, deployment, and ongoing support of both on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure across a wide array of global locations—including corporate offices, data centers, and distributed retail or operational facilities.

Job Duties Include:

  • Design, implement, and support a highly available and scalable global network infrastructure, including wired and wireless systems, voice solutions, routing, switching, and firewall technologies
  • Proactively monitor and maintain network health and performance; conduct root cause analyses and optimize configurations to minimize downtime
  • Manage and troubleshoot secure network connections such as site-to-site IPsec tunnels and client VPNs across global locations
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement and enforce security policies and access controls
  • Plan and execute network expansions, upgrades, and new site deployments
  • Evaluate new networking technologies and vendor roadmaps for potential adoption across diverse operational environments including offices, warehouses, retail locations, and customer support centers
  • Ensure operational excellence through documentation, standard operating procedures, and regular audits of network performance and topology.
  • Provide Tier 3 escalation support and subject matter expertise to IT support teams.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for global network support
  • Additional duties as needed and assigned

Job Qualifications Include:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in enterprise network engineering.
  • 3+ years of specialized experience in networks designed for media, live streaming, broadcast, or OTT delivery.
  • 6+ years working in complex global or multi-site environments, including SaaS or distributed enterprise systems.
  • 4+ years supporting public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), including hybrid network architecture.
  • 4+ years working with SD-WAN technologies.
  • 2+ years managing DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Proven hands-on experience with Cisco (routers/switches), Palo Alto firewalls, Aruba and Meraki wireless technologies, ,Site-to-site VPN and security appliances
  • Deep understanding of IP networking, multicast/unicast, adaptive bitrate (ABR) streaming, and media protocols (HLS, MPEG-DASH, RTMP, SRT, RTP).
  • Familiarity with advanced routing, traffic shaping, and quality of service (QoS) for video and voice applications.
  • Strong grasp of network protocols and technologies across all OSI layers, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RSTP, LACP, 802.1x, SNMP, IGMP, VLANs, VPNs (L2 & L3), and multicast
  • Packet capture, analysis, and performance tuning expertise.
  • Proficiency in wireless planning, deployment, and use of survey tools for RF optimization.
  • Experience in software-defined networking (SDN) and virtualization technologies.
  • Exposure to infrastructure as code tools—experience with Terraform is a plus.
  • Knowledge of hosted telephony and call center networking solutions is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with change management, project lifecycle documentation, and MOPs (Method of Procedure).

Salary: $110 - $112/hr depending on experience
