Senior Manager Human Resources

Our team is partnering with a valued client on the search for a  Senior Manager of Human Resources  to join their  distribution center  HR team in central New Jersey. This role is hybrid, with four days per week on-site.

This role requires a proven leader with experience developing human resources programs across high-volume logistics environments, who can serve as a strategic advisor leading with an empathetic approach. 

Role Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary HR leader for the distribution center, serving as a strategic advisor to site leadership and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Lead and mentor a team of HR professionals, providing guidance and development opportunities to strengthen capabilities.
  • Oversee core HR functions including compliance, employee relations, workforce planning, and performance management.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance employee engagement, talent development, and change management within a dynamic, shift-based environment.
  • Collaborate with operations leadership and corporate HR partners to maintain consistency in policies and organizational priorities.
  • Manage HR coverage across multiple shifts, demonstrating flexibility to meet operational demands.
  • Utilize strong project management skills to advance HR and operational initiatives, ensuring timely execution and measurable outcomes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and navigate sensitive team dynamics with professionalism and discretion.


Role Qualifications

  • 7+ years  of progressive HR experience, including leadership roles in fast-paced operational settings.
  • 5+ years   of HR experience within distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environments  required
  • Proven success managing HR teams and supporting hourly, shift-based workforces.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with operational leaders and influence across all levels.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance, employee relations, and HR best practices.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with high emotional intelligence.
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on execution capability and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet operational requirements.

Salary: 1 45K - 155K + bonus
