Our client, a  trend-forward retailer , is hiring a Senior Designer for Hard Woven & Denim  to join their  Los Angeles, CA  team on a hybrid schedule (4 days a week in office).

The Senior Designer is responsible for developing 45–60 innovative, trend-forward, and cost-effective products across assigned categories each month, managing the process from concept to final sample. This role serves as a key leader within the design team—managing daily workflow and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure alignment with the brand's vision and seasonal goals . Hard wovens and denim experience is required for this role. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate seasonal concepts and reference inspiration into cohesive, commercially viable products
  • Create detailed tech packs that clearly communicate design intent, including construction and finish details for development into samples
  • Proactively source new fabrics, trims, and materials ahead of each season; present selections to the VP of Design and Trend Team
  • Lead and support the creation of all tech packs to ensure accurate and comprehensive information for development and production
  • Attend and lead proto fittings for adopted styles, ensuring design integrity while incorporating feedback from buyers and cross-functional teams
  • Manage seasonal calendars across multiple categories to ensure all deadlines are met and the design process stays on track
  • Maintain constant communication with cross-functional and external partners including the China development team, Production, and Creative teams
  • Mentor and guide junior designers; provide constructive feedback, skill-building support, and career development opportunities
  • Manage tracking of sample status against development timelines; proactively flag risks and opportunities in development
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise in sample development and support junior designers
  • Conduct ongoing market research on emerging trends, competitive landscape, and category innovation opportunities

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Fashion or Apparel Design
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fashion design across multiple categories
  • Experience with hard wovens and denim 
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite and Excel
  • Strong design aesthetic, color and conceptual development skills
  • In-depth knowledge of garment construction, fabrication, color, print, trims, and embellishments
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to take direction and work under pressure
Salary: $95K-135K annually
