Our client, a contemporary fashion brand , is hiring a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join the team onsite in New York City. This is a full-time position that will report to the Accounts Payable Manager and start as soon as possible.
Job Duties Include:- Maintain AP mailboxes and ensure invoices and inquiries are processed timely.
- Record customs duty files received from brokers and reconcile balances with Treasury payments across entities.
- Perform bi-weekly AP account reconciliations and prepare structured supporting analysis.
- Record corporate card and travel expense transactions and reconcile to external reports.
- Prepare and post-month-end accruals across multiple cost categories.
- Produce clear analysis and variance explanations for business partners and finance leadership.
- Provide documentation for internal and external audits and ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of accounting or AP experience (retail experience or CPG preferred)
- Experience with high volumes of invoices, approximately 1000 per month.
- Experience with Salesforce & SAP Concur.
- Experience handling AP operations in Canada & Puerto Rico a plus.
- Highly competent in Microsoft Office and Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
- Strong analytical skills and highly organized, with the ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities.
- Professional communication skills and ability to translate financial reconciliations into clear business language.
