Our client, a portfolio company of globally recognized heritage brands, is seeking a Senior Brand Accountant to support and manage core accounting operations across designated business areas. This is a hybrid opportunity in Shelton, CT (M-Th in-office, Fridays WFH). This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting compliance with accounting standards, and smooth month end and year end close processes. The ideal candidate is detail, driven, analytically strong, and motivated to partner cross functionally to support business performance in a fast-paced environment.
Job Requirements
- Own and support monthly and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with accounting standards
- Maintain general ledger integrity through reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis
- Manage fixed assets, capital expenditures, and lease accounting activities
- Analyze trial balances and financial results, providing insights and explanations for key variances
- Partner with cross functional teams to resolve accounting issues and ensure accurate financial data
- Support internal controls, audit preparation, and process improvement initiatives
- Assist with ad hoc accounting projects and system enhancements as needed
- Maintain flexibility during peak close periods to meet deadlines
Role Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA or advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Advanced Excel skills: ERP experience required (SAP a plus)
- Highly analytical with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Organized, proactive self-starter able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
- Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and results oriented mindset
Salary:$100K - $110K
