Our client, a contemporary fashion & accessories brand , is hiring a Retail FP&A Manager to join their team in NYC. This role will be on-site on their hybrid schedule of 4 days/week in-office. Retail industry experience is essential, along with proficiency in NetSuite and Concur.
Job Duties Include:- Lead P&L and expense modeling by channel and function; develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts with a focus on retail-specific drivers such as shipping, COGS, and sales performance.
- Partner with the merchant planning team on inventory buys and retail performance analysis.
- Review operational metrics and KPIs to identify risks and build sustainable forecasting models from channel data.
- Collaborate with the IT team to enhance automation and streamline reporting in NetSuite.
- Meet monthly with budget owners to review variances, trends, and year-over-year comparisons, ensuring consistent and accurate expense recording and accruals.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses of business initiatives to optimize margin and SG&A performance (e.g., packaging, subscriptions, shipping, loyalty programs).
- Build and maintain cash flow models for both short- and long-term forecasting, including capital expenditure planning and balance sheet analysis.
- Prepare quarterly forecast reports for banking and financial partners.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in accounting and financial modeling/analysis, including at least 3 years in a retail environment.
- Prior experience in both start-up and established corporate settings strongly preferred.
- Deep understanding of retail financial mechanics, including POS systems, inventory costing, sell-through analysis, and gross margin drivers.
- Advanced Excel proficiency (Power Query/Pivot experience a plus).
- Proven NetSuite ERP expertise within a retail context.
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and internal controls.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and analytical thinking.
