Our client, a contemporary fashion and accessories brand , is seeking a Retail Accountant to join their team in NYC . This is a temporary role, with the potential to become permanent after 3 months based on performance and the needs of the business. This hybrid role is 4 days/week in-office in New York City, and 1 day remote. Candidates must have Retail Accounting and NetSuite experience is required.
Job Duties Include:- Utilize advanced Excel skills for financial modeling, trend analysis, and reporting, ensuring accurate interpretation and presentation of financial data.
- Work within NetSuite ERP to support daily accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger reconciliation, and monthly financial close processes.
- Apply Power Query for efficient data transformation, preparing complex datasets for analysis.
- Develop dynamic and visually engaging dashboards and reports using Power BI, enabling leadership to make informed business decisions.
- Maintain accurate financial records and uphold compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, with a strong understanding of retail-specific considerations such as inventory and sales data.
- Support ongoing improvements to financial processes and reporting workflows, driving greater efficiency and clarity in financial operations.
- Proven expertise in Excel, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and financial modeling.
- Hands-on experience using NetSuite ERP for day-to-day accounting tasks and financial reporting.
- Strong proficiency with Power Query and Power BI for transforming, analyzing, and visualizing data.
- Prior experience in a retail accounting environment, with knowledge of inventory tracking, sales performance metrics, and operational finance.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving discrepancies.
