Our client, a wellness brand , is hiring a French Canadian Language Supervisor to join their team. The role is a remote role based on the East Coast that will support the localization of content for French-speaking Members in Canada. This role sits at the intersection of translation, dubbing, quality control, and AI model evaluation and plays a key role in ensuring linguistic accuracy, cultural relevance, and audio quality across subtitling and dubbing projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in studio dubbing, script adaptation, and translation. This is a temporary role slated for 12 months and will operate under a part time schedule, approximately 25 hours a week.
Job Duties Include:- Review and QC English-to-Canadian French (EN ? FR-CA) subtitles for fitness classes, ensuring accuracy, cultural nuance, and consistency within defined timelines.
- Evaluate AI-generated subtitles and dubbing outputs using structured frameworks; flag errors, categorize issues, and provide actionable feedback.
- Localize class descriptions and related content for French-speaking Canadian audiences, maintaining terminology consistency for new products and features.
- Support dubbing projects by adapting scripts, reviewing dubbed audio (studio and AI), and ensuring synchronization, naturalness, and alignment with original intent and energy.
- Conduct audio QC for clarity, pacing, tone, and technical quality; manage corrections and re-takes with dubbing studios and voice actors as needed.
- Assess and compare Text-to-Speech (TTS) and voice AI models across linguistic, stylistic, and prosodic parameters; document performance for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Localization teams to enhance AI model quality; maintain style guides, dubbing standards, and technical specifications for internal and external adherence.
- Respond to translation, subtitling QC, and dubbing requests; document edits, feedback, and evaluation results for clear reporting.
- Native Canadian French speaker with advanced command of grammar, syntax, idioms, and regional slang; fluent in English.
- 3+ years of experience in dubbing, audio editing, script adaptation, translation, or related fields; strong understanding of Canadian French linguistics and cultural adaptation.
- Excellent critical listening skills and attention to detail; experience with subtitle timecodes and synchronization.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities; capable of providing clear, constructive feedback.
- Highly organized, proactive, and solutions-focused; able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for language, media, and technology, with interest in AI-driven localization and dubbing.
