Our client, a wellness brand 
, is hiring a temporary part-time People Operations Specialist 
 to join their team in New York City 
on a hybrid schedule. 
This role serves as a central point of contact for the company's global workforce, and is a vital partner to the People Team. The ideal candidate is an effective communicator, comfortable working cross-functionally, and experienced in providing employee support across high-performing teams. 
 Job Duties Include: 
- Provide support to employees across the business, including timely and effective resolutions to first level employee questions on all People related topics
 - Coordinate key People Team processes across the company, including employee onboarding, benefits & perks, and annual performance reviews
 - Manage the onboarding process for new employees including new hire paperwork, I-9 compliance, and system setup
 - Administer policies, programs, and practices to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws
 - Partner with the People Team on the administration of various projects, providing operational support as needed
 - Maintain and update data within HR systems, and provide ad-hoc reports for business leaders as requested
 - Provide backup administrative support for the People team, including employment verifications and drafting of employment change letters
 - Act as a support resource for the People Team via a helpdesk/service desk model. Responsible for triaging and resolving incoming requests from business units and team members.
 
Job Qualifications Include:
- 3+ years of experience as a member of a high-performing People/HR Team
 - Availability to work a part-time schedule (25-30 hours weekly) Monday - Friday
 - Ability to work in-office Tuesdays & Thursdays in New York City
 - Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills - you connect well with employees and understand their needs
 - Strong time management - you can prioritize and work efficiently
 - Effective communication skills - you take pride in providing high levels of service to our employees and have outstanding follow-up ability
 - Highly collaborative - you enjoy working closely with other team members
 - A sound sense of maturity and judgment when handling confidential employee data and sensitive information
 - Diligent, organized, and capable of meeting established deadlines
