Manager/Sr Manager, Accounts Payable

Our client, an innovative, high-growth hospitality company, is seeking a Manager/Sr. Manager, Accounts Payable to join their team in NYC on a hybrid schedule (3 days in office / 2 days remote). This is a temporary, full-time role, slated for 3-months with potential for conversion to a permanent role based on performance and the needs of the business.

Job Duties Include:
  • Lead and manage the Accounts Payable function in a high-growth, fast-changing environment; provide hands-on support as needed.
  • Manage and develop a team of AP associates/coders (expected to oversee invoice coders and support escalations and prioritization).
  • Oversee weekly check runs and ensure timely, accurate payment processing
  • Review, track, and support processing of high-volume, non-inventory invoices (approximately 2,000 invoices/week), ensuring accurate coding and approvals.
  • Manage monthly lease/landlord invoice processing (currently ~150/month, expected to increase as new locations open).
  • Partner cross-functionally to resolve invoice discrepancies and support vendor communications, including timely responses to inquiries.
  • Help implement and optimize AP workflows during system changes, including:
  • ERP migration to NetSuite
  • Invoice processing transition to Zip
  • New/updated PO workflows and related process changes
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and scalability; drive initiatives such as automation (RPA/AI) and workflow enhancements.
  • Support special projects, process optimizations, ERP enhancements, internal controls, and ad hoc analyses.

Job Qualifications Include:
  • 5+ years of progressive Accounts Payable experience, including demonstrated ownership of AP operations in a high-volume environment.
  • 2+ years of people management experience
  • Experience in a high-growth/startup or similarly fast-paced environment; comfortable with ambiguity and evolving processes
  • Systems agility; ability to learn new tools quickly. Experience with NetSuite and/or Zip is a plus.
  • Proven track record of implementing process improvements and/or automation (RPA/AI preferred).
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets
  • Strong communication skills, vendor/stakeholder management ability, and a collaborative working style.
Salary:$120K – $135K at an hourly rate
