Our client, a fast-growing skincare brand, is seeking a Director of Paid Media to lead the overall strategy, optimization, and execution of a national, full-funnel, cross-channel media program. This role will be responsible for connecting brand-building initiatives with performance-driven outcomes across DTC, marketplace, and retail channels. This hybrid role sits in the NYC office 3 days a week and works remotely 2 days a week. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise across paid media platforms, strong analytical capabilities, and a strategic mindset for driving both brand equity and revenue growth. This individual will serve as a key cross-functional leader, partnering with internal teams, agencies, and platform partners to develop innovative media strategies that maximize business impact.

Job Duties Include:
  • Own and lead national, full-funnel paid media strategy across awareness, consideration, conversion, and retention objectives.
  • Develop integrated media plans that connect brand storytelling with measurable business and commerce outcomes.
  • Drive cross-channel media planning and investment strategies across DTC, marketplace, and retail media environments.
  • Make audience-first, data-driven investment decisions focused on scale, efficiency, and incremental growth.
  • Identify and implement innovative opportunities across emerging channels, media formats, and advertising technologies.
  • Partner closely with brand, creative, and marketing teams to ensure media and creative strategies are aligned.
  • Lead creative briefing and media planning processes to ensure assets are optimized for specific audiences, platforms, and funnel stages.
  • Develop and execute testing roadmaps focused on messaging, creative formats, creators, and audience strategies.
  • Oversee performance marketing initiatives across paid social, search, video, display, and commerce-focused channels.
  • Direct media strategies supporting both direct-to-consumer and omnichannel retail objectives.
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key media and technology platform partners.
  • Identify opportunities for beta programs, first-to-market activations, and advanced measurement capabilities.
  • Lead external agency partners, establishing strategic direction, success metrics, and performance expectations.
  • Ensure agency execution aligns with business objectives while maintaining strong internal ownership of media strategy.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs across brand, engagement, and conversion metrics.
  • Leverage attribution models, incrementality testing, and performance analytics to optimize media investments.
  • Translate complex data and insights into actionable recommendations that drive growth and improve marketing effectiveness.
Job Qualifications Include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive paid media experience, including leadership responsibility for large-scale, cross-channel media programs.
  • Deep expertise across paid social, search, video, display, retail media, and commerce marketing channels.
  • Experience developing and executing full-funnel media strategies that balance brand-building and performance objectives.
  • Strong understanding of direct-to-consumer marketing and eCommerce ecosystems.
  • Experience managing agency relationships and leading external partners to achieve business goals.
  • Demonstrated success managing significant media budgets and optimizing investment performance.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience leveraging attribution, measurement frameworks, testing methodologies, and performance reporting.
  • Ability to translate consumer insights and business objectives into strategic media plans.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with creative, brand, digital, eCommerce, and executive leadership teams.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience within beauty, skincare, consumer products, retail, or a similarly fast-paced consumer-facing industry preferred.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment while balancing strategic planning and hands-on execution.

Salary:$160k - $190k
