Our client, a  trend-forward retailer , is hiring a  Designer  to join their  Los Angeles, CA  team on a hybrid schedule (4 days a week in office).

The Designer is responsible for developing  innovative, trend-driven, and cost-conscious styles  across assigned categories. They bring seasonal concepts to life—from initial concept through final sample—ensuring all styles align with  the brand aesthetic and commercial goals . The Designer works collaboratively with cross-functional teams and takes ownership of product development within assigned categories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate seasonal inspiration and trend direction into a cohesive and commercially viable product assortment
  • Create clear, detailed tech packs including sketches, specifications, and construction notes for development teams
  • Support fabric and trim sourcing for upcoming seasons; present findings to the Senior Designer and Team
  • Attend proto fittings for assigned styles; take notes and incorporate feedback to refine garment fit and construction
  • Manage workload and seasonal deliverables across multiple categories to ensure adherence to the product development calendar
  • Track daily product development progress and maintain communication with overseas development teams; create and update tracking documents to ensure projects remain on schedule
  • Collaborate daily with Product Development, Production, and Creative teams to ensure styles are executed accurately and efficiently
  • Conduct regular market research and trend analysis to stay current on silhouettes, colors, and innovations within the competitive landscape
  • Ensure styles reflect brand DNA and meet price margin targets
  • Assist in organizing merchandising seasonal samples for internal reviews and external presentations
  • Participate in sketch reviews, line reviews, and milestone meetings with broader design and buying teams
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Fashion or Apparel Design
  • 3+ years of experience in apparel design across relevant categories
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong eye for trend, color, fabric, and garment construction
  • Experience creating tech packs and working closely with development and production teams
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrications, trims, and print development
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to take direction well and apply feedback constructively
Salary: $80K-110K annually
