Accounting Manager

Our client, a luxury homewear brand, is seeking an Accounting Manager to support  end-to-end accounting operations, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives. Based in NYC, this hybrid role works 3 days onsite and 2 days remotely each week. 

Job Duties Include:

  • Manage general ledger activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial recordkeeping
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
  • Prepare financial reports, supporting schedules, and management analysis
  • Oversee inventory accounting, reconciliations, and related financial reporting activities
  • Manage sales tax processes, filings, and compliance in partnership with external vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Review and support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury activities
  • Maintain intercompany reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and banking-related processes
  • Partner with operations, supply chain, and business teams to resolve financial discrepancies and improve reporting accuracy
  • Assist with audits, compliance requirements, and internal control processes
  • Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and accounting best practices
  • Support financial analysis, reporting projects, and cross-functional business initiatives
  • Contribute to accounting policy development, documentation, and process standardization


Job Qualifications Include:

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with responsibility for full-cycle accounting processes
  • S trong experience with general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Experience within consumer products, CPG, retail, wholesale, manufacturing, or inventory-driven environments
  • Knowledge of inventory accounting, sales tax processes, and corporate accounting principles
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and accounting best practices
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience working with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting multiple business channels such as wholesale, retail, eCommerce, or direct-to-consumer operations preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
  • Experience with treasury functions, banking relationships, and cash management preferred
  • Global or multinational company experience is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • CPA, CMA, MBA, or progress toward professional certification is a plus
Salary:   $95,000-$110,000 + bonus
