Our client, a children’s apparel company, is hiring a Designer, Newborn Boys (0-24 months) to join their team onsite in NYC.
Job Duties Include:
- Conduct research to identify key styles and fabrications for upcoming collections.
- Accurately sketch black-and-white silhouettes and collaborate with the Associate Designer and Technical Designer on construction details and fit objectives.
- Work closely with the Art Team to select prints, patterns, and graphics for each collection.
- Develop precise color CADs and line plans for distribution to cross-functional teams.
- Maintain detailed records of trims, materials, and construction specifications in the PLM system.
- Analyze competitor and aspirational brands to identify emerging trends and business opportunities.
- Prepare presentation materials, including slides and boards, for line reviews with management and buying teams.
Job Qualifications Include:
- 5+ years of experience in apparel design, with childrenswear experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic understanding of the development and production process.
- Knowledge of color theory, merchandising, and printing techniques is a plus.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and PLM systems.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Salary: $90 - $95K annually
