Our client is a global leader in integrated circuits looking to add a Building Maintenance Supervisor to their team. This position is located in the Sheepshead Bay area of Brooklyn, NY.
Job Responsibilities:
· Hands-on supervisor of 12 maintenance mechanics and custodians
· Assign job tasks to maintenance & custodial staff
· Oversee and work first-hand on building repairs and renovations, including electrical, plumbing, construction and painting
· Responsible for utility systems and services to ensure they operate properly
· Secure Certificates of Insurance, City & State Permits & other required documentation prior to any work done on our premises
· Supervise outside contractor performance during facility projects
· Assist with negotiation of service contracts
· Create and revise procedural documents when required.
· Coordinate with the EH & S Manager for inspection and testing of building safety systems to ensure a clean, safe and healthy working environment for all members
· Make recommendations for project improvements and or/major repairs or replacements.
· Assist in the layout of production and office areas and the installation of production equipment and associated services
· Comply with and promote ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 regulatory compliance standards
· Initiate, conduct and oversee training activities concerning preventive maintenance and equipment operation
· Discipline and conduct performance evaluations for staff
· Any other job related task as assigned by management
Job Requirements:
· 10+ years’ supervisory experience in facilities & custodial management in a manufacturing environment
· Certification to purchase & repair HVAC parts & systems (EPA 608) required
· Certifications in plumbing, electrical, heating etc., are very strong pluses
· Must have working knowledge of applicable codes, laws, rules, regulations and policies, this includes NYS building codes
· Good computer, verbal and written communication skills
· Hands on experience with electrical, plumbing and related operational systems
· Ability to perform activities requiring physical effort including lifting up to 50 pounds
· Ability to be flexible & available in the event work is required in the evenings or weekends and in the event of any emergency
